When you have the challenge of a 125 km mountain bike journey around Lake Hawea you want to make sure your accommodation is taken care of, so you can focus on the race. Edgewater is located on Lake Wanaka, in Wanaka township itself and offers the ideal location to energise before the event, and importantly relax and celebrate after you have completed the challenge.
Our one-bedroom suites and two-bedroom apartments are perfect for you and your support crew. There is plenty of room, with a central dining and lounge area. Each apartment or suite is fitted with a kitchenette, separate bedrooms and washing machines/driers.
Alternatively rest your weary heads in our hotel style rooms, featuring all the amenities you would expect from a four-star plus Qualmark ™ graded hotel. All rooms, suites and apartments open out onto either a balcony or a patio area and most have car parking very near by, if not directly outside the room!
Fuel up with breakfast in Sargoods Restaurant, or at the end of the day celebrate in the Wineglass Café. Stay with us at Edgewater this year and keep your focus on the race.
Radio Wanaka broadcasts on 92.2FM & 97FM in Wanaka and 99.1FM in Cromwell. Sister-station ‘Roy’ broadcasts on 94.6FM. The two are Wanaka’s only locally owned and operated radio stations and as usual will be playing a big role in the lead-up to the race.
Radio Wanaka’s new owners Mike & Jacque Regal have jumped at the chance to again be the official radio station of the Contact Epic, while former owner Ed Taylor can’t wait to try out his new ‘29 incher’ in this years race.
